The Pirie pageant now has a digital presence!
We’re especially thankful to our sponsors who understand the importance of this event for the children of Port Pirie and the unity and spirit of Christmas it brings to the community.
We acknowledge and thank the valued sponsors of the Port Pirie Christmas Pageant whose generosity and support make the pageant possible. Our ongoing sponsors are the Port Pirie Regional Council, Nyrstar, The Recorder newspaper, and new sponsor 105.9 Magic FM radio station. The Port Pirie Combined Service Clubs continue to support the pageant behind the scenes and have generously donated their pageant funds to the new committee.
We’re very excited to bring you the 56th pageant, Port Pirie’s very first evening pageant at 7pm on Saturday December 3rd 2016 – and we need you to help us make it the biggest and best one yet!
The pageant is for the children and families of Port Pirie and surrounding districts and we’re hoping everyone can pitch in and either volunteer, participate or spectate!
This year’s pageant route starts and finishes at Memorial Drive. The pageant will go left at Gertrude Street, right onto David Street, right onto Ellen Street, right onto Norman Street finishing at Memorial Drive, check out the map on the event tab of the website. The Christmas Pageant starts at 7pm and can take up to one hour – be sure to get your favourite spots! Remember to spread out around the route to ensure a good vantage point for all. Introducing the exciting “Christmas in the Park’ event to add to the festivities and atmosphere before and after the pageant so you can enjoy food, drinks, stalls, music, rides from 5pm – 10pm at Memorial Park. A great family and friend outing!
Santa’s Photo Booth will be at Christmas in the Park. Kathy Gould of Hip Photography will host the photo booth exclusively for those people who would like to purchase images of their children with Santa.
Spectators we’d love to see you come dressed in ‘Neon’ colour theme to help Port Pirie commemorate and celebrate its first evening pageant and be sure to upload your photo into the ‘neON Selfie Facebook competition’! Competition will be open on pageant day.
The pageant has a long history of bringing joy and happiness to people of all ages, who have watched or been part of the pageant over the past 55 years. The pageant’s history is captured on the History tab of the new website http://www.portpiriechristmaspageant.com/event-history/ complete with a photo slideshow with images provided to us from the Port Pirie Combined Service Clubs photo albums and scrapbooks. The new committee have been working very hard over the past 6 months to get to this point and include Karen Seindanis (President), Lauren Boulton (Secretary), Jacy Kemp (Treasurer), Grant Hanlon, Jo Ellard, Scott Everett, Robert Tolson, Leo Taylor, Rachael Lunsmann and Bek Doyle. Float Entries, Volunteer and Stallholder applications can all be lodged now – online from any device. You can also download the forms as a pdf from the website and we will make the forms available at The Recorder office and the Port Pirie Regional Council.
We will also have a stall at the Smelters Picnic and you can ask us questions there and pick up forms as well.
