The Port Pirie regional community came out in droves on Saturday night to support their much loved Christmas Pageant and to catch the fun, Christmas shopping, food and festivities at Christmas in the Park regardless of the chilly, windy weather. Well done to all the participants of the floats – the businesses, organisations and private floats for all the preparation and making the event so wondrous and magical for the children and families, without you the pageant just wouldn’t happen.
There were many great creative and festive floats which didn’t make it easy for the judges Lynne Akker, Hon Geoff Brock MP and Mayor John Rohde to decide on who to award as best floats.
Best Business Float was awarded to the Federal Hotel and the Billygoat Hill Band in their old Bedford truck providing great music.
Best Organisation Float was awarded to Ballet Technique’s elegant Dance of the Maypole
Best Private Float was awarded to ‘Thai Siam Christmas Pageant’. The costumes were outstanding and actually sourced from Thailand.
Best Spirit of Christmas Float was awarded to the Port Pirie Regional Gymnastics Academy for their magical ‘Winter Wonderland’
Congratulations to these amazing winners and to all the people involved with all of the floats that were part of the Port Pirie Christmas Pageant.
