The new evening Port Pirie Christmas Pageant was incorporated on May 30th, 2016. We’ve evolved from a proud long tradition of Port Pirie Christmas pageants, 56 continuous years of pageants in fact! and we’re very excited to bring you the 57th one, Port Pirie’s second evening pageant at 7pm on Saturday December 2nd 2017!
Go to the HISTORY tab for more information on the history of our wonderful Christmas Pageant and all the people and organisations who have made it possible over the past 57 years.
The pageant is for the children and families of Port Pirie and surrounding districts and we’re hoping everyone can either volunteer, participate or spectate! We’re especially thankful to our sponsors who understand the importance of this event for the children and the unity and spirit of Christmas it brings to the community.
The committee includes Karen Seindanis (President), Lauren Boulton (Secretary), Jacy Kemp (Treasurer), Robert Tolson, Rachael Lunsmann, Ellie Baldwin, Emma Pendry, Jayne Gebert and Hon MP Geoff Brock. (we’ve got some pretty pictures of us below!)
We are a not-for-profit organisation and one of our first jobs was to come up with our incorporation ‘Rules of Association’ which is all about what we stand for, what we’re going to deliver, our purpose, membership and volunteer rules, committee structure and guidelines, accountability and all that! If you want to have a read we’ve attached it for you to download in the link below.
Our number one purpose is to hold an annual Christmas pageant event for the community of Port Pirie. We’re also super keen on community involvement by including all interested people in the planning and involvement of the pageant event. (want to be a volunteer?) We are hooked on promoting the Christmas spirit with the community of Port Pirie and surrounding areas. And we’re super passionate about the pageant being all-inclusive of all people in our community in the ‘Spirit of oneness and unity’. Our intention is to contribute to a healthy community culture by encouraging ‘Sunsmart’ practices.
Volunteer, Participate, Spectate! – we need you to help us organise all this! Enter your Float and enjoy this great community event!
