Event History

The Port Pirie Christmas Pageant has a long history of bringing joy and happiness to people of all ages, who have watched or been part of the pageant over the past 55 years.

“The Pageant is an experience the children never forget and apart from the happiness they experience with their parents, it is a bold and positive indication of the passion and community spirit of Port Pirie” – Barry Trevorrow  (past Pageant committee chairperson) December 2000 ~ The Recorder.

We would like to honor and thank the past committee consisting of Chairperson Pam Menadue (Soroptimist), Treasurer Peter Standen (Y’smen) and Tony Adriannes (Y’smen), Jenny Hughes (Soroptomist), Vic Knauerhouse (Lions) and Graham Nichols (Rotary). Club reps from the Port Pirie Combined Service Clubs have made up the pageant committee for many years. We owe our recent past pageants to the Lions Club, Rotary International, The Soroptomists, Apex and Y’s Mens Club.  The Service Clubs will still provide invaluable assistance to the 2016 Christmas Pageant and have in fact been helping us all along the way to ensure a smooth transition of this very important community event as well as giving us a sizeable donation of over $3,000 remaining in their pageant kitty from 2015.
